irish pub drawingThe Irish Pub on Washington Street, or “The Pub,” as it’s know to locals, opened in Nov. 2006 and since then it has become an integral part of the community. As well as being a music venue and a bar, it is a community gathering place for myriad events ranging from benefits and fundraisers to Mardi Gras parties, wedding receptions (and even a wedding, once) to Pub Quiz Trivia night, or just a nice place to go of an evening for friendly faces and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It doesn’t hurt that the menu boasts over 110 different beers, 25 different Irish whiskeys (as well as the usual array of spirits in a full bar), and some tasty food! Patrick O’Flaherty, renowned Celtic musician, plays ThursdayMonday evenings, 4-8pm. He also makes the Pub’s famous Irish Stew, so be sure to have some when you stop in. Céad míle fáilte!
