Augusta Old-Time Week

Students attend their chosen class from 9:00 am to noon then break for lunch. After lunch (1:15-2:15 pm) there is an Old-Time Roundup featuring performances and presentations by the instructors. From 3:00-3:50 pm students will have the opportunity to choose from a daily array of One-Shot Workshops. From 4:00-5:00 pm students and instructors come together and jam in a daily Old-Time Porch Party. Evenings are filled with lively jams, slow jams, and song swaps. There will also be square and contra dances each evening Sunday-Friday (except Wednesday) and public concerts on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. Friday features features Old-Time Week student showcase.
All Week 5 students (Old-Time, Vocal, AV Dance, and Wk 5 arts/craft/folklore students) are admitted free to all concerts, dances, and Augusta Festival events (including the Augusta Festival Concert).
2014 Tuition: $450
All old-time music classes are intended for those who can already play their instrument to some extent and are ready to start learning old-time style, technique, and repertoire.
Students register for one class for the week. Each class builds upon information presented the previous day. Old-Time Week runs concurrently with Vocal Week and American Vernacular Dance Week .
