Augusta Festival in the Park

The Augusta Festival is the final weekend that caps off the summer session. It’s a wonderful celebration of traditional dance, craft, and music that is attended by thousands.

The Augusta Festival festivities kick off Friday night, August 8 at 8:00 pm, with Contras and Squares in the Augusta open-air pavilion.

Augusta Festival In The Park

On Saturday, August 8th, from 10 am to 5 pm, join us for the Augusta Festival In The Park. Family-style festivities take place all day under tents in tree-shaded Elkins City Park. The Juried Craft Fair has many of Appalachia’s finest artisans selling their unique creations. There are multiple stages and tents for performances and activities. There is fun and entertainment for the entire family.

Festival Concert / Mountain Stage Concert

The Augusta Festival concert will feature a performance of the internationally syndicated radio program Mountain Stage with Larry Groce on Saturday, August 8th at 7:30 p.m. in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium in Myles Center for the Arts. Heard weekly on NPR stations across the country, “Mountain Stage” is produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting and is celebrating its 32nd year on the air. General Admission Tickets are $12. Student tickets: $6, available with student ID at the Box Office only on the night of the concert. A summer season pass is available for all summer concerts for $82, a 40% discount. Concert ticket includes admission to the dance in the open-air Augusta pavilion following the concert.

Festival Dance

The concert is immediately followed by a Contras & Squares Dance in the open-air pavilion. Admission is FREE for concert attendees. D&E faculty, staff and students admitted free. General admission to dances is $6, Students $4 with ID.

Festival Gospel Sing is Sunday, August 9 at 10:00 a.m.
