Forging his own American dream, singer-songwriter Jonathan Foster brings a roots blend of Folk Americana music as a recording and performing artist. He is known for his soulful vocals and acoustic guitar, passionate delivery, off the beaten path introspective lyrics, artist collaborations, and dedication to independent roots music. This summer he releases his 6th full length recording project and 3rd studio album “Green Eyed Bird” due July 4, 2017, (Miracle Mile Records/After Hours Recorders) followed by a supporting US summer tour.

Jonathan is a motivated, independent, do it yourself artist who revels in getting out and engaging listeners with his tunes. Foster has spent the latter half of his life travelling the world and developing his songwriting and passion for music while touring small venues across the US intermittently the past 5 years. Residing in Northern California by way of his Northern New York state roots, you can hear traces of his geographic upbringing and songwriter inspiration from John Prine, John Hiatt, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, James McMurtry, Todd Snider, Hayes Carll, Gillian Welch, Lyle Lovett, Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell, Steve Earle, Neil Young, Natalie Merchant and Warren Zevon in Foster’s music. He is also one of the founding artists of the independent record label Miracle Mile Records.

His previous efforts including a solo 18-song live album “American Highway Live” released in the Spring of 2016 from the previous summer tour, is a prime collection of his past 18 years of songwriting including many selections from his last full length album “Help Me Run” (Miracle Mile Records 2015). Help Me Run, co-produced by Bruce Turgon (Foreigner, The Lou Gramm Band), continues to showcase Jonathan’s artistic taste in music and songwriting where the land, highway and people meet in vibrato. This project features the musical and vocal complements of Morgan Hannaford (bass & mando), Tracy Manuel (percussion & vocals), and Ron Gillette (guitars) with special guests Katrina Ericson (vocals), Jim Dyar (guitar & vocals), Torri Pratt (vocals), Joe Misztal (drums), and Susie Foster (fiddle). This is the follow up from his 2013 debut studio album “Sabbatical” (also produced by Foster & Turgon) featuring songs that explore the human experience from travel, love, humor, and disappointment.
