Allegheny Mountain Radio

Allegheny Mountain Radio is a network of community stations serving the two Virginias of the Allegheny Highlands, broadcasting on 1370 AM Frost, West Virginia; 88.5 FM WNMP Marlinton, West Virginia; 106.3 FM Marlinton, West Virginia, 89.7 FM Monterey, Virginia; 91.9 FM Hillsboro, West Virginia, 103.5 FM Radio Durbin; and 107.1 FM WCHG Hot Springs, Virginia. Listeners can also hear Allegheny Mountain Radio streaming live, online at www.alleghenymountainradio.org. The stations are operated by volunteers and a small paid staff.

While the stations are free format, Allegheny Mountain Radio has deep roots in traditional and bluegrass music, playing host to live recordings by the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys and exemplified by its long-running shows TGIF Bluegrass with Uncle Norris and DJ Willie and Bluegrass Reflections with Uncle Norris and Country & Bluegrass with Steve Timberlake. Classic country, traditional and gospel can be heard weekdays from 10 a.m. until noon, as volunteer DJs take to the airwaves during the country and gospel hours.
